Acquiring enough Primordial Ashes to offer at the Altar of Rites is no small feat, and the developers themselves admit that it’s quite challenging. In fact, you’ll need a total of 340 Primordial Ashes to unlock all three Legendary Potion Powers for the season, making it a significant undertaking.

Currently, the only known method to obtain Primordial Ashesย is by salvaging a Primal Ancient Item. Yes, you can now take a Primal Ancient item to the Blacksmith and salvage it to receive 55 Primordial Ashes in return. While salvaging Primal Ancient items is the primary way to obtain Primordial Ashes, many Nephalem may be curious about how to farm this rare resource in Diablo 3 Season 28 efficiently.

Diablo 3 Primordial Ashes: How To Farm Quickly

So far, the only known source of Primordial Ashesย is salvaging rare Primal Ancient items. To efficiently farm Primordial Ashes, it’s important to understand some facts about Primal Ancient items:

  • Primal Ancient items have a distinct red beam and glow when they drop.
  • They can drop from any source of Legendary items in the game, including Horadric Caches, Kadala, and Kanai’s Cube, but only after successfully completing at least a level 70 Greater Rift solo.
  • Primal Ancients are much rarer than Ancient items, which are in turn much rarer than normal Legendary items. To put it into perspective, each Legendary drop after completing a level 70 Solo Greater Rift has a 10% chance to be an Ancient, and each Ancient has a 2.5% chance to be a Primal. This means that, on average, only 1 in 400 Legendary drops will be a Primal.

So how can you quickly farm Primordial Ashes in Diablo 3? Well, the best approach is to farm Primal Ancients. We recommend running Solo Greater Rifts at the highest level you can comfortably complete quickly and keep grinding persistently.

There are no known tricks or shortcuts to farm Primordial Ashes quickly in Diablo 3 at this time. We will update this article accordingly if any changes or new strategies for farming this important resource in Diablo 3 Season 28 become available.
