The Tugboat is a new addition to Rust, and it’s safe to say it is a floating base. The RHIB was the largest boat before Tugboat appeared in the game. The RHIB could take six people, including the driver. However, the Tugboat is more like a Scrap Helicopter, and it can take a whole group inside. You can also turn the Rust Tugboat into a mobile base. You can put many deployables inside such as a Door, Keylock, and a Large Wood Box. Unlike other boats, the Tugboat is not sold in Fishing Villages. Let’s take a look at where you can find the Tugboat in Rust.

Normally boats can be bought up from Fishing Villages, and Helicopters from Bandit Camp in Rust. However, the Tugboat is a non-purchasable vessel. The only way to get the Tugboat in Rust is through the Harbors on the map. As you may have seen before, the Tugboat models were sitting in the Harbors but were not operational. However, they are operational from now on. There are two different variations of the Harbor monument in Rust. In the image above you can see where you can find the Tugboat in both variations.

Rust Tugboat Durability

The chances of your Tugboat sinking with normal bullets are slim to none in Rust. Even if your Tugboat sinks, you will not lose everything if you have a Diving Set with you. Because after the Tugboat sinks, it sits at the bottom of the ocean, and during this time, you can enter the wreck to collect your remaining items.
