The Storm Flip was introduced in Patch 9.20 in Fortnite but later removed in Patch 10.20. It is a throwable item that instantly creates a storm. This item was reintroduced in the v.27.11 update and can shield you from the storm or unleash it upon your foes. But how do you get and use Storm Flip in Fortnite OG effectively? Let’s find out.

You can get Storm Flips as ground loot, inside chests, and from supply drops. However, it is an Epic item that is rare. But in our experience, we easily found Storm Flips during our first few matches near Fatal Fields and Loot Lake. Pro tip: Avoid hotspots when landing, as most players are heading to these locations. Because this item is more useful when the storm is shrinking, getting you killed in the early stage while searching for it isn’t the play.

How To Use Storm Flip Effectively

The Storm Flip has two main functions – it can create a safe bubble from the storm or damage enemies caught inside its radius when used in the safe zone. When thrown into a safe zone, it creates a sphere-shaped storm with the same damage rate as the current storm. Also, using it inside a storm creates a safe zone that lasts for 20 seconds.

One of the best strategies is throwing it at a group of opponents in the game’s final stages, forcing them out into the open, where they can be easily eliminated. However, be careful when throwing it since you will take damage if caught inside the storm flip.

Moreover, you can also use it defensively by throwing it at yourself while fighting an opponent caught in a storm. This will create a safe zone for yourself, giving you time to plan your next move. Also, if you are caught in the storm and the same zone is near you can easily use it to get to the safe zone.

Another essential thing to remember is that Storm Flip will fill one inventory slot, so it is vital to plan accordingly and only carry it when necessary. Fortnite always vaults popular items, and we have seen the Storm Flip being vaulted. We can also expect it to be vaulted again after Fortnite OG. So, use it wisely while it is still available in the game.
