Just like in the original game, in Sons of the Forest, you have to survive on an island with a hostile environment. And absolutely everything will be against you, starting with the inhabitants of the island and ending with the weather. Therefore, you will need to look for different weapons and build a base to survive. And, of course, you need to worry about food. Therefore, we recommend that you grow Plants in Sons of the Forest.

As you explore the island in Sons of the Forest, you will find various Plants. Some of them restore hunger or thirst, and some restore health and energy. And luckily, you can grow them at your base.

To grow plants in Sons of the Forest, you must first craft a Planter. There are two types of them:

  • Wall Planter – You can craft it on a wall with 13 sticks.
  • Standing Planter – You can craft it anywhere on the ground with 16 sticks.

In one Planter, you can grow only one type of Plant. And after you plant the seeds, you will need to wait a few in-game days for the Plant to grow before you can harvest. However, it is worth noting that plants will grow more slowly in cold weather. And by creating a few of these Planters, you can have an endless supply of any Plants you need. We also recommend you build walls or a fence around your plants so that annoying cannibals don’t break anything.

That’s all you need to know about how to grow Plants in Sons of the Forest. Plants can save your life on the island, so follow our tips, and you will be able to grow them. And while you are here, take a look at our guide on how to get the Cross in Sons of the Forest.
