For long space travels and bloody battles, you will need to stock up not only on weapons and ammo but also take care of your health to survive in difficult situations. Next, you will learn how to heal and increase max health in Starfield. Just like in most RPGs, healing is an essential process, and you need to know exactly how to heal your character in a tough battle. Below, we have provided all the necessary recommendations so that you worry less about your health level.

The game will provide you with many opportunities and items to restore your health. You can use various consumables for this, but make sure you have enough by purchasing, finding, or cooking them beforehand. Here is a list of healing items you can use:

  • Med Packs
  • Trauma Packs
  • Emergency Kits
  • Food

All of the above items will restore a significant amount of your HP, except for food. It doesn’t restore as much HP as other consumables, but the upside is that it’s not difficult to get, as you can use various resources to cook it at outposts.

Quick Access to Consumables

To use consumables, we recommend adding them to hotkeys so that you don’t lose time in battle. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the menu and select a desired item.
  2. Press Y to add it to the hotkeys.
  3. During the battle, use the D-Pad to switch between the items and use them when needed.

In this way, you will provide yourself with fast and strategic healing that will help you survive in battle.

Pharmacology

In addition, you can also research Pharmacology to unlock several passive abilities that will help you regenerate more health, for example:

  • Cellular Regeneration: You naturally restore your health after an injury.
  • Nutrition: It will allow you to restore more health, oxygen, and stamina after eating and drinking.
  • Rejuvenation: Permanent passive healing.
  • Weight Lifting: You can carry more weight, including health regeneration consumables.

These are really useful skills, but to unlock them, you will need to try hard to get the necessary resources.

Starfield: How to Increase Max Health

You can constantly search for new consumables and cook food to restore your health, but you should also focus on increasing your overall HP. In this case, you will need the Wellness skill. If you don’t know where to spend your skill points, this will be the best choice to increase your max health. Thus, you will increase the max health by 10% for each level of upgrade, up to 40%.

Another method is to get the Alien DNA trait. You can choose this trait when you create a character, thus providing yourself with more HP. The only downside is that consumables will restore less health than usual. But if you additionally use Pharmacology to get passive skills, you shouldn’t have any problems.

Now you know how to heal and increase max health in Starfield, so we hope you won’t face any problems with that. Good luck!
