While Netflix’s library is outmatched by Xbox Game Pass’s vast offerings, the games this globally loved streaming service provides are worth checking out. I’m talking about indie gems like the heartfelt boat management sim Spiritfarer and the action-packed roguelike Dead Cells. After all, if you’re subscribed to Netflix, you needn’t pay anything extra to access these games. The only downside is that they are only playable on mobile, namely Android and iOS. Whether the service will come to PC remains to be seen, but learning how to install and play Netflix Games on your mobile devices is a very simple process.

Before getting started, you need to download the Netflix application on your phone; signing into this main app will enable you to access your games with little friction. Once you’ve logged into your account, you can see the list of Netflix Games by selecting the “Games” tab at the bottom of your Android or iOS device. As an example, I chose the indie narrative creator sim Storyteller.

Upon selecting Storyteller, I had the option to “Get Game,” a button that directed me to Apple’s App Store or Google Play. The digital storefront supported by your device will take you to the “Netflix Edition” of said game. It’s quite apparent that it’s the correct version if you notice the “N” logo on the app’s icon. You can also find the game by using “Netflix, Inc.” as the publisher tag to browse the titles.

Download and install the game, after which you can launch it. You don’t need to sign in again; the main app will connect to the game and do it for you. Just tap your profile and start gaming.

To recap, here’s how you install and play Netflix Games:

  1. Download and sign into the Netflix app.
  2. Choose the game you want to play and tap “Get Game.”
  3. Install the game on your device’s supported store.
  4. Open the game, tap your profile, and have fun.
