Dead Island 2 might not be the best game of the year, but it is making some splashes in the industry. After being in limbo and spending almost ten years in development, we can finally play this title alone or with friends. For the latter, it might be good to know how to invite your friends to play Dead Island 2 in co-op mode. Given the nature of the game, killing zombies with others is pretty fun, as every character brings new skills to the table. If you want to start your co-op session, here we’ll tell you how to do it.

Like any other game, you’ll have to progress before you get the chance to invite players. The mission you’ll need to finish is called “Call the Cavalry,” which is fitting. After that, you’ll get to host or join sessions to explore the streets of Los Angeles together. If you have unlocked the option, here’s how you’ll invite friends to play Dead Island 2 in co-op mode:

  1. Go to the Main Menu
  2. Head to Online
  3. Select the “Friends Only” option
  4. Invite your friends through the Social Panel

By doing this, you’ll get the chance to play with your friends in this game. The game lets you host and join sessions which is excellent, and as a bonus, everyone gets credit for the quest, so there is no falling behind during the main story for anyone. The online functionality is fantastic, but the best part is the fun people can have while playing. Another reason to try co-op in Dead Island 2 is to see which characters complement each other better. If you see one that you like, you can start a new game to build them and try them later on.

Dead Island 2 brings many new things to the genre, and it even created a new system to make kills full of gore and more visual. The studio behind the game has knocked it out of the park in terms of gameplay and visuals, which are the strong points of this title. We don’t blame you if you are not into the story that much. It definitely is something that they should improve if a third entry arrives. Yet, killing zombies is fun, so don’t hesitate to invite your friends to play Dead Island 2 today!
