Knowing how to make Heat Resistance food in Tears of the Kingdom can save your life. It is no secret that there are some extreme weather conditions in Hyrule. One minute you are completely fine with wholesome weather, and the other times you might be freezing or melting. Not only that, but local enemies will attempt to freeze you or set you on fire. Today we will talk about Heat Resistance, so if you are planning to go to Death Mountain or the Gerudo Desert, then take note. If you want to resist heat, here is how to make Heat Resistance food in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

To learn how to make Heat Resistance food, you will have to use your cooking chops. As introduced in Breath of the Wild, Zelda players know that combining several ingredients during cooking will yield several recipes. Cooking in Tears of the Kingdom remains as easy as before.

Thankfully, making Heat Resistance food is even easier. All you have to do is to collect certain materials in the wild that grant that effect. Look for the keyphrase “Heat Resistance” in the material description, and you will be good to go. Some examples of materials that grant Heat Resistance are Chillshrooms, Chifflin Trout, Hydromelons, and, in our case, Cool Safflina.

Once you have your items, go ahead and hold them by pressing the A button and choosing Hold. You will get to hold up to 5 materials. Find a cooking pot with a fire beneath it. If the fire is out, start it by using fire arrows or a torch. Be sure to select one of the Heat Resistance materials as one of your cooking ingredients and drop them in the pot.

They will begin to cook and, once finished, will render a recipe that will have the bonus effect of Heat Resistance. In our case, we combine some meat with some Cool Safflina. Eat your recipe to resist heat in Tears of the Kingdom for a specific amount of time. Again, this all depends on the material combination and their quality.

That is how to make Heat Resistance food in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Be sure to combine the Heat Resistance materials with several other powerful ingredients to create the best recipes. This will help you along your journey since extreme weather is only one of the many obstacles you will find in your adventure.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
