Who would have thought a banana could look equal parts sweet and deadly? Banana Guard captures that vibe in MultiVersus. Yanked straight out of the Adventure Time universe, Banana Guard is a Bruiser who is surprisingly simple to play once you become aware of its unique moveset. But it’s also just as easy to exploit for opponents. So, you’ll need to learn how to balance Banana Guard’s skills so you don’t feel overwhelmed and outmatched in PvP and PvE.

Banana Guard has a simplicity that makes them straightforward to play but also risky against tougher opponents in PvP and PvE. Nevertheless, you can dominate the arena just as you can with characters like Superman with some of these go-to moves.

Potassium and Protein (Ground and Aerial)Neutral + SpecialBanana Guard’s buff skill in MultiVersus, the move temporarily increases both his knockback and damage.
Chaaaarge! (Ground)Side + SpecialA way to lunge forward to close the distance and cause damage if you hit the opponent.
Whyyyyy???? (Ground)Down + SpecialWorks as a quick knockout to opponents and a buff for nearby allies.
Pointy End (Aerial)Up + AttackIt’s a double-poke move that can send opponents sky-high.
Get Down! (Aerial)Down + AttackA strong downward stab, the move can easily become a knockout if you’re close to the edge.
Spear Splitter (Aerial)Side + AttackYou can interrupt an opponent’s move with this forward slash.

Tips and Tricks

Banana Guard can become predictable in battle because it lacks powerful specials like other MultiVersus characters. The best way to keep opponents on their toes is to learn how to switch up your battle style in the middle of a fight. Stay Back! is a move you should become comfortable with as its versatility allows it to be used at any point in a combo. Use it to follow a move like You Shouldn’t Pass, and then round out the combo with something like Pointy End.

But some moves require caution despite how useful they are. Potassium and Protein give a great buff, but you’re vulnerable. To save yourself, create a distance or wait to use it after you already knocked your opponent out. Even better: use it with the Perk The Iron Temple even if it increases its charge-up time. Also, don’t forget to bring in Whyyyyy???? whenever playing with allies. It’s perfect to give them that extra buff to take opponents out.

As I said before, opponents can learn to anticipate Banana Guard in MultiVersus as you’ll generally rely on and recycle through a handful of moves. But you can still catch your opponent off-guard as long as you know how to balance your moves when to utilize your charged specials, and how to work with allies if you’re not fighting alone.

MultiVersus is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
