Playing through any game is better when you have friends by your side, and with a title like Payday 3, you’re going to absolutely need them. Of course, you can absolutely join a random group of strangers on a heist, but being with people you trust is better. So, we wrote out a multiplayer guide for how to play with friends in Payday 3.

Being able to play multiplayer with friends is the very essence of what it means to play a game like Payday 3. Considering that, it’s pretty easy to start up a game with friends. Here, you’ll be able to see all of your friends on the platform of your choice on the left side of your screen. After you decide that you’d like to invite your friend over, just select their name and press the P key on your keyboard or press down on the right stick on either controller. Sometimes, your friends have a different gaming platform than you, making it so that you can’t play every game together.

Does Payday 3 Have Cross-Play?

Fortunately, Payday 3 has a cross-play feature that lets you play the game with others who have different platforms. In order to enable it, simply agree to have it enabled when the prompt shows up just as you enter the game for the first time. As a result, you will need to create a Starbreeze account. Once you do, you’ll be able to see all of your online friends by using the instructions above and see what platform they are playing the game on. Now, what happens if you don’t have access to the platform you originally played the game on but have it for a different platform?

Does Payday 3 Have Cross-Save?

You won’t need to worry. Fortunately, Payday 3 also supports cross-save, meaning that you can transfer your progress to a new platform if you absolutely need to. Now, you have the complete multiplayer guide to Payday 3!
