After you head out from your hometown, you may accidentally stumble on a small village on the northern side of the continent. The people of Norvik have been cursed to sleep, and you need to return the Dreamstone to the Faeries in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. Although almost everyone has been forcefully put to sleep, you can get information from an old man who is hiding on the second floor of a house. He will ask you to find this key item and send it back to the Faeries, which is the woods.

To wake up the villagers of Norvik, you need to grab the Dreamstone from the Underground Lake on the western side of the settlement in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. You should be able to reach it within a day and the monsters here are rather tough.

You will mainly face flying enemies like Drac, who can use ice magic. This underground mine also contains Morphean, a mushroom creature that can inflict Sleep on your whole party. Raven Lunatic is another common enemy you can encounter but is less dangerous than the other monsters.

Here’s the path you need to take:

  1. Head down the narrow passage and turn right.
  2. This will take you to another area where you can find a docile monster.
  3. Keep following the path and exit through another entrance.
  4. You will return to the first area and you can take the last path.
  5. Head to the spring to your right to restore your HP and MP.
  6. You can go north to open chests but go south to progress.
  7. Follow the path and open the treasure chest at the end.

Besides obtaining the Dreamstone, you can also read a letter from an unknown person. The author was the child of a human and a Faerie. Since the Faeries hate humans, the Queen forbade the child from meeting with his mother. Unfortunately, this ended up causing the child and the mother to jump into the lake.

Once you have the key item, you can head to the Faerie Village on the northern side of the Underground Lake. If you don’t want to bother climbing up, you can exit using Chimera Wings. You can find the father of the unnamed son here, but you need to go to the Queen and report your findings.

Although she will order you to leave initially, the Faerie will change her mind when she sees that you have a Dreamstone. Hearing what happened to the mother and son will make her regret her decision, and she will give you the Wakey Dust to remove the curse on Norvik.
