If you’re running out of smaller demons to slay in Diablo 4 Season 4, which is understandable since the game lets you level up faster now, it’s time to turn your gaze to bigger prey. And when it comes to being big, the Uber Bosses in Diablo 4 are the meanest and most monumental. Finding them all is quite a chore, so let me taxi you to the Uber Boss locations and summoning methods for Diablo 4 Season 4. Consider this a cheat sheet.

D4 Season 4 Uber Boss List (& Summoning Guide)

[Updated on May 17, 2024 – Added new D4 Season 4 Uber Boss and revised the summoning guide]

Note that all Uber Bosses apart from Uber Lilith have their own Tormented versions which are even more difficult. The Tormented Uber Bosses can go as high as Level 200, meaning you shouldn’t be stubborn about fighting them while unprepared.

In any case, here are all the current Uber Boss locations and summoning rituals in Diablo 4 Season 4 from most accessible to hardest. At the current rate of updates, expect these to keep piling up every Season.

Echo of Lilith

Echo of Lilith or Uber Lilith is by far, one of the least demanding Uber Bosses in Diablo 4. She’s also the first Uber Boss in Diablo 4, dating back from the pre-seasonal content. In order to fight her, you need to be in World Tier 4.

Once you’re in World Tier 4, you can head to the church in Nevesk and touch Lilith’s Blood Petals. Afterward, you’ll be transported to the Uber Lilith arena.

The fight is one of the most difficult in Diablo 4 and you need to memorize all her attack moves as some of them will kill your character in one hit.

Echo of Varshan

Echo of Varshan is available starting from World Tier 3. The dungeon in which it resides is called Malignant Burrow located right beside the Tree of Whispers. You can enter the Malignant Burrow right away as soon as you enter World Tier 3 and finish the Whispers of the Dead side quest.

However, to actually summon the Echo of Varshan boss near the end of the Malignant Burrow, you need to deposit the following materials on the altar.

WT3 Requirements (Level 55)WT4 Requirements (Level 75)Tormented Requirements
1x Gurgling Head
1x Trembling Hand
1x Black Femur

1x Trembling Hand
1x Black Femur
1x Malignant Heart
3x Gurgling Head
3x Trembling Hand
3x Black Femur
3x Malignant Heart
2x Stygian Stones

You can obtain the Gurgling Head, Trembling Hand, Black Femur, and Malignant Heart reliably and consistently from Whisper Caches (Tree of Whispers bounty rewards). But they also from from Elites, Treasure Goblins, and Local Events.

Meanwhile, you can get the Stygian Stones from The Pit or World Bosses in World Tier 4.

Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint

Like Echo of Varshan, Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint is also available starting in World Tier 3. Grigoire’s dungeon is in the Hall of the Penitent in Dry Steppes. Likewise, you’d also need to deposit certain components in a pedestal inside the dungeon so you can summon and fight Grigoure.

Collect the following for Grigoire.

WT3 Requirements (Level 60)WT4 Requirements (Level 75)Tormented Requirements
5x Living Steel5x Living Steel15x Living Steel
2x Stygian Stones

Living Steel is a bit tougher to farm. You can obtain Living Steel from Helltides in Diablo 4 Season 4. Living Steel drops from orange chests in Helltides but you need 250-300 Aberrant Cinders to open these orange chests. Most of these orange Helltide chests contain anywhere from 2-5 Living Steel.

Stygian Stones, as always, drop from The Pit and World Bosses in World Tier 4.

The Beast in the Ice

Moving on to harder bosses, The Beast in the Ice is strictly a World Tier 4 boss. You need to run Nightmare Dungeons (Tier 31+) if you want to access and fight The Beast in the Ice.

Here’s a step-by-step process.

  1. Craft or obtain a Tier 31+ Nightmare Sigil.
  2. Run the Tier 31+ Nightmare Dungeon and complete it. Look for Distilled Fear among the enemy drops. It’s not a guaranteed drop, by the way.
  3. Collect 9x Distilled Fear for the regular The Beast in the Ice boss fight. If you want the Tormented version, you need 45x Distilled Fear.
  4. As an alternative, Distilled Fear also drops from World Bosses and Helltides.
  5. Additionally, make sure you have 250x Sigil Powder.
  6. Once you have at least 9x Distilled Fear (or 45x Distilled Fear for the Tormented version) along with 250x Sigil Powder, go to the Occultist in any city and craft the Glacial Fissure Nightmare Sigil.
  7. Run the Glacial Fissure Nightmare Sigil and defeat The Beast in the Ice.

In summary, here are all the materials you need for The Beast in the Ice.

WT4 Requirements (Level 85)Tormented Requirements
9x Distilled Fear
250x Sigil Powder
27x Living Steel
250x Sigil Powder
2x Stygian Stones

Lord Zir, The Dark Master

Lord Zir is the vampire Uber Boss that you can also fight starting World Tier 4. Once you’re in World Tier 4, you can head over to The Darkened Way dungeon east of Kyovashad. That’s where you can find Lord Zir, assuming you once again have the required components for the fight.

Once again, you need the following components deposited in the altar inside The Darkened Way to summon and fight Lord Zir.

WT4 Requirements (Level 85)Tormented Requirements
9x Exquisite Blood27x Living Steel
2x Stygian Stones

It’s less busywork than summoning The Beast in the Ice, but you might find Exquisite Blood as difficult to obtain too. That’s because Exquisite Blood typically only drops from the following World Tier 4 activities:

  • Legion Events
  • World Bosses

Again, Stygian Stones drop from The Pit or World Bosses in World Tier 4.

Duriel, King of Maggots

If you thought the previous Uber Bosses in Diablo 4 were pushovers, then Duriel, King of Maggots would like to have a word with you. He’s available in World Tier 4 as well.

Duriel, King of Maggots is located in the Gaping Crevasse dungeon east of Gea Kul. However, you will need certain special components if you want to summon him. Follow the step-by-step instructions

  1. Defeat the Echo of Varshan in WT4 and collect at least 2x Mucus-Slick Eggs.
  2. Defeat Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint in WT4 and collect at least 2x Shards of Agony.
  3. Only the player who summoned both bosses will get the components, by the way.
  4. (Optional) Collect 2x Stygian Stones from The Pit or World Bosses in WT4. Additionally, collect at least 6x Mucus-Slick Eggs and 6x Shards of Agony. This is for the Tormented version.
  5. Travel to Gea Kul, head east, and look for the Gaping Crevasse. Head inside the dungeon.
  6. Deposit the Mucus-Slick Eggs and Shards of Agony (and Stygian Stones if you want the Tormented version), to summon and fight Duriel, King of Maggots.

In summary, this table explains all the components you need.

WT4 Requirements (Level 100)Tormented Requirements
2x Mucus-Slick Eggs
2x Shards of Agony
6x Mucus-Slick Eggs
6x Shards of Agony
2x Stygian Stones

Echo of Andariel

Echo of Andariel is the newest Uber Boss in Diablo 4 and she’s one of the meanest, along with Duriel. Likewise, she’s accessible from World Tier 4.

You can find the Echo of Andariel in the Hanged Man’s Hall dungeon east of the Tarsarak Waypoint, Kehjistan. Like Uber Duriel, Uber Andariel also has special instructions.

  1. Defeat The Beast in the Ice in WT4 and collect at least 2x Pincushioned Dolls.
  2. Defeat Lord Zir, The Dark Master in WT4 and collect at least 2x Sandscorched Shackles.
  3. Only the player who summoned both bosses will get the components, by the way.
  4. (Optional) Collect 2x Stygian Stones from The Pit or World Bosses in WT4. Additionally, collect at least 6x Pincushioned Dolls and 6x Sandscorched Shackles. This is for the Tormented version.
  5. Travel to the Tarsarak Waypoint in Kehjistan, head east, and look for the Hanged Man’s Hall. Head inside the dungeon.
  6. Deposit the Pincushioned Dolls and Sandscorched Shackles (and Stygian Stones if you want the Tormented version), to summon and fight the Echo of Andariel.

In summary, this table explains all the components you need.

WT4 Requirements (Level 100)Tormented Requirements
2x Pincushioned Dolls
2x Sandscorched Shackles
6x Pincushioned Dolls
6x Sandscorched Shackles
2x Stygian Stones

Remember that Tormented Uber Bosses in Diablo 4 are Level 200, and the max level for players is only Level 100. You will need some serious skills and practice, as well as patience for these Uber Bosses.

Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
