In the latest entry to one of Ubisoft’s best-known franchises, Assassin’s Creed Mirage puts players in the shoes of Basim, a street thief-turned-Assassin with lofty goals, big dreams, and nightmarish visions. As Basim explores the streets of Baghdad, you’ll find guards around almost every corner – and they’re all out for your head. As such, keeping tabs on your enemies’ movements is helpful when playing Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and it’s a simple thing to do with the help of your feathered friend Enkidu or with Basim himself.

You’ll be able to tag your enemies not long after starting Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as soon as you learn how to use your eagle Enkidu. Enkidu is an incredibly helpful companion for a number of reasons, and you can find a full guide on how to use him here, but he’s most immediately useful when you’re looking to scout out a location and tag enemies.

In order to use Enkidu to tag enemies, press up on the D-pad or B on the keyboard. After you’re in control of the eagle, fly him over the location you’re looking to scout and hold the left trigger (L2) or press the Right Mouse Button to enter stationary mode. While holding L2 or RMB, move the cursor to hover over an enemy and you’ll see an icon appear above their head – this enemy is now tagged. Keep moving the cursor to tag multiple enemies in a certain location.

Once an enemy is tagged, you can exit out of Enkidu’s View by pressing up on the D-pad/B again. The icon above the enemy’s head will remain in place, allowing you to keep track of their movements and stay out of sight while you lurk in the shadows. Once you’ve acquired a few additional skills like Pathfinder and Enkidu’s Acuity 1 and 2, Enkidu’s View can also be used to find keys, track guards’ Patrol Paths, and tag enemies with greater accuracy.

There’s another way to tag enemies with Basim, if you’d prefer:

  • Enter the tool wheel using the right trigger or the keyboard
  • Select any ranged weapon
  • Use the left trigger or mouse to aim at an enemy to tag them

If using Enkidu isn’t your style or you prefer to use a simpler method to tag enemies, there’s a second way to achieve this using any one of Basim’s ranged weapons. First, hold the right trigger (R2) or press G to open the tool wheel. From the tool wheel, select one of Basim’s ranged weapons, then hold L2 or the Right Mouse Button to aim.

In aiming mode, move the crosshairs over an untagged enemy and you’ll see the same icon appear above their heads, along with a health bar indicating how much damage you’ll do. This method of tagging enemies is a little more dangerous than the first, since you need to get closer and draw a weapon, but it’s no less effective for keeping track of your enemies.

In short, here’s how to tag enemies with Enkidu:

  • Activate Enkidu’s Eye with the D-pad or keyboard
  • Enter stationary mode using the left trigger or mouse
  • Aim the cursor at an enemy
  • Wait for the icon to appear above their heads

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now available on Mac, Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
