You will use eight main crafting stations, not including those used for cooking, and each is used differently. Mortar and Pestle
“This simple stone contraption can be used to grind resources into new substances.”
The Mortar and Pestle is one of the first crafting stations you will use inย Ark Survival Evolved. The game’s description above states that the Mortar and Pestle is a grinding tool. It can create Narcotics, Sparkpowder, Gunpowder, and many other resources. The Mortar and Pestle will be your first step in the path of making tranquilizer arrows within the game.ย
Forge
“Requires Wood, Thatch, or Sparkpowder to activate. Put unrefined resources in this to refine them.”
The Forge is the next station you can use in Ark Survival Evolved. The Forge is primarily used to turn raw metal into Metal Ingots. Using Sparkpowder, which can be crafted with the Mortar and Pestle, Thatch, or Wood, you can light the Forge. After the Forge is lit, you can add raw metal to make Metal Ingots or add Hide and Oil to make Gasoline.ย
Smithy
“Craft metal items here.”
After creating a Forge and crafting Metal Ingots, you should notice that you can’t craft anything with them in your inventory. That’s where the Smithy crafting station comes into play inย Ark Survival Evolved. The Smithy is required to craft anything made of metal, including metal tools that will help you significantly increase your harvesting amount.ย
Chemistry Bench
“Transmute resources into new items. Requires Gasoline & Power to be activated.”
Let’s move on to the Chemistry Bench crafting station inย Ark Survival Evolved. The chemistry Bench is an upgraded Mortar and Pestle. While you can still prepare the same items in the Mortar and Pestle, you can also craft new items, such as Absorbant Substrate, Propellant, and Flamethrower Ammo. However, to run the Chemistry Bench, you must be connected to a power source and have Gasoline.ย
Industrial Forge
“Requires Gasoline to operate. Put unrefined resources in this to refine them.”
The Industrial Forge crafting station inย Ark Survival Evolvedย is similar to the Forge in almost every way. However, the Industrial Forge offers additional inventory slots, faster refining, and different resource requirements. Rather than using Sparkpowder, Thatch, or Wood to run the Industrial Forge, you must use Gasoline.ย
Industrial Grinder
“Grind up crafted items and certain resources!”
The Industrial Grinder is an underrated crafting station inย Ark Survival Evolved. When you open the Industrial Grinder’s inventory, you will only see a few available resources. However, most players need to learn that the Industrial Grinder will grind any items and give you back a full quarter of the resources initially used to craft it. This makes the Industrial Grinder a giant recycling machine and very valuable.ย
Fabricator
“Fabricate Mechanized items here. Requires Gasoline to be activated.”
The Fabricator is the crafting station inย Ark Survival Evolved that is the next step up from the Smithy. Where the Smithy allows for crafting with Metal Ingots, the Fabricator allows for crafting mechanical items. Once the Fabricator is prepared, you can begin making electronic items, a generator, and much more. The Fabricator must have Gasoline to run.ย
Tek Replicator
“Replicate items here. Requires Element to be activated.”
The Fabricator is the station in Ark Survival Evolved that is the next step up from the Smithy. Where the Smithy allows for crafting with Metal Ingots, the Fabricator allows for crafting mechanical items. Once the Fabricator is prepared, you can begin making electronic items, a generator, and much more. The Fabricator must have Gasoline to run.ย
