How To Use the Fusion Reactor in The Planet Crafter, Explained

It isn’t rocket science, but still.

While many players in The Planet Crafter seek sweet oxygen and other vital materials, true treasure hunters are looking for Fusion Reactors. If you didn’t know, these devices are your golden ticket to a pile of loot. While the avid wreck explorer might encounter one fast, using them is a whole other thing. You’ll need to crank up your terraforming skills and gather some extremely rare materials. Once you have that, you’ll be able to start using these useful reactors.

The Fusion Reactor, a crucial element in The Planet Crafter, is not easily obtained. To locate one, you must explore the various wrecks, a task that requires time and patience as the ship locations are procedural. At the start of the game, interacting with the reactors is a distant dream, as you need to craft Fusion Energy Cells. These cells can only be created with the Advanced Craft Station. Furthermore, each reactor may require 1-4 Fusion Energy Cells. To create just one of these batteries, you need:

  • x3 Pulsar Quartz
  • x2 Osmium Osmium
  • x1 Obsidian Obsidian

If you have already found a ship and want to explore it, the best thing to do is place a base near the entrance. Also, prepare some emergency rations, take your microchip torch, and above all, oxygen capsules. It will be much better if you already have the inventory upgrades and oxygen tanks.

Of course, remember to bring the Fusion Energy Cells with you because when you place them in the Fusion Reactor, the closed compartments of the ships will open for you. In each room, you can find new crates full of materials, but the crates and their contents are also generated procedurally. So we hope you have a lot of luck and space in your inventory to return to your base with all the resource loot.
