ICE Aggression Is Supported By a Father As His Son Gets Snatched in Massachusetts ‘I’m not against what the government is doing’

ICE has significantly ramped up its presence in New England in the last few weeks. From Gestapo tactics, smashing and grabbing through car windows, a recent incident where a mother and daughter were essentially kidnapped, the list goes on. However, some folks support ICE and their tactics, including a Guatemalan father living in Framingham. What he didn’t expect was that his support of ICE would affect him personally, as his son was snatched up with no warning.

Man with no criminal record detained by ICE at gas station in Framingham, Mass., family says

In a post by CantStopPoppin, in the EyesOnIce Reddit page, a story originally reported by NBC News, was shared about an incident with yet another innocent person falling victim to ICE and its New England aggression. According to the report, a 25-year-old with no criminal record or history was arrested in a Framingham gas station suddenly and without warning.

In a somewhat bizarre twist of fate, the man’s father supports ICE, and even said so during statements given to reporters despite knowing his son was in ICE captivity for no reason. This is what Aquimdes Orellana, the father of Daniel Orellana, had to say about the incident.

It’s not fair that he’s going through this and being treated like a criminal, My son answered, ‘I’m not that person. I don’t know him.’… ‘Do you know him?’ ‘No, I don’t know him, I don’t know who he is, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m going to work right now, and let me answer my phone because my boss is calling me.’… And they took his phone and, when they asked him his status, they obviously took him.

Later, he then said this.

I’m not against what the government is doing, I mean, I know the government is working to improve the country. I mean, he wants to see the country prosperous, and that’s excellent, but it’s not fair that they take innocent people, people who are productive for the country.

It’s a stunning case of the snake eating its own tail. You can’t sanction ICE and its tactics, but then expect to be somehow exempt from their laws and targeting. Daniel was snatched out of the gas station early in the AM, and is being held in Plymouth without any further word on what is next. Hopefully, he can be returned home soon, but with ICE involved, it seems highly unlikely.
