Do you want to know if Exoprimal is connected to Dino Crisis? Capcom fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Exoprimal, and the day has finally arrived. Being a multiplayer-person third-person shooter in which the player has to put on an Exosuit, this game is similar to Destiny 2. But instead of battles with space creatures, you must confront the Dinosaurs and their genetically modified versions. Upon learning of this, Capcom veterans remembered Dino Crisis, another game from the same developer, was released from 1999 to 2003. Many have assumed that Exoprimal is an attempt to resurrect the old Dino Crisis universe in a new format. But is it?

Is Exoprimal Part of the Dino Crisis Universe?

Unfortunately, Exoprimal and the Dino Crisis game series are not connected. When gamers first heard that the game has dinosaurs, they immediately assumed that the plots of these games could take place in the same universe. But those who followed the Exoprimal development know that Capcom Director Takuro Hiraoka answered this assumption last year. During an interview with IGN, he said that Exoprimal is a new universe and that the company has no plans to continue or remake Dino Crisis.

It is worth noting that the players had other reasons for their assumption. In the trailer, fans noticed a character very similar to Regina, the canon character of Dino Crisis. But this is just a coincidence or a tribute to this character in the new game. In addition, Hiroyuki Kobayashi, producer of Dino Crisis, was actively involved in the Exoprimal development. So some overlap is not excluded.

In addition, it is worth noting that the games have completely different genres and audiences. While Dino Crisis was a survival horror game, Exoprimal provides a more dynamic multiplayer third-person shooter. The transition from the first genre to another is possible but would have a lot of drawbacks. The survival horror genre is what fans love about Dino Crisis. The new format would have outraged veterans, and new players would not have been able to understand the atmosphere of the early 2000s series of games.

But despite all of the above, many players believed in a miracle. But alas, Exoprimal got its release, and apart from dinosaurs, it has nothing to do with Dino Crisis. However, in recent years we have received a lot of unexpected cult releases. So, it is likely that among Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space, we can also get Dino Crisis. In addition, you could notice, Capcom is very like dinosaurs and remakes.

Exoprimal is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
