There’s no denying that 2023 has been an incredible year for gaming. Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Diablo 4 are just a few of the notable titles we’ve been graced with! However, despite all these fantastic games coming out, Xbox Game Pass has had a fairly mediocre year. That is until we saw the September lineup! A closer inspection reveals that this will be one of the most jam-packed months for Game Pass in ages! As such, a question is posed: Is September 2023 the best month ever for Game Pass owners?

What Games Will Be Added To Game Pass In September?

Starfield's release has a ton of expectations.

There are a total of 6 games being added to Game Pass next month. Still, there is a good possibility that Microsoft could announce more additions to the subscription. If that happens, we will be sure to update this article!

Starfield

The long-awaited Starfield launches in early access on September 1st. To the excitement of fans all around the globe, it will be headed straight to Game Pass! This is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of the year, and it’s safe to assume that plenty of gamers will be subscribing just to get their hands on it. Furthermore, those with Game Pass will be able to upgrade to the premium edition of the game for only $30! All by itself, Starfield makes the September Game Pass lineup look very appealing.

Gris

Gris is a phenomenal experience, both visually and emotionally. Needless to say, its reviews are there to prove it. In typical indie game fashion, the title deals with hard-hitting topics such as grief and loss. Still, it ends on a lovely and inspiring note that will impact anyone who plays it.

Lies of P

Lies of P will be the second massive Souls-like we’ve received in 2023, next to Remnant 2. Interestingly, The game is a dark and twisted retelling of the classic tale of Pinocchio and is sure to draw some attention. Although it will be a great addition to September’s Game Pass lineup, there is still an incentive to pre-order it for certain rewards.

Party Animals

Yet another title that is releasing straight to Game Pass, Party Animals, looks to be tons of fun. As a multiplayer party brawler in the same vein as Gang Beasts, the game will surely be a breath of fresh air amongst a sea of singleplayer adventures. Be sure to pick it up if you are a fan of local multiplayer!

PAYDAY 3

PAYDAY 3 launches on September 21st, more than 10 years after the release of PAYDAY 2. It is a sequel that fans have been waiting a long time for, and the hype around it is palpable! The series is, arguably, the greatest heist franchise out there.

Cocoon

Finishing up September’s fantastic Game Pass lineup, Cocoon will be launching on September 29th. The game is created by the same team that brought us INSIDE and LIMBO and will almost certainly be a hit. However, unlike the team’s previous two games, Cocoon will have a more lighthearted feel to it.

Game Pass Core Launches In September

As if September couldn’t get any better for subscribers with the Starfield release, it also marks the launch of Game Pass Core. This new service is the replacement for the long-outdated Xbox Live Gold and will offer over 25 games to its members at the same price.

The service will include an abundance of fantastic titles for its members, such as Doom Eternal, Fallout 4, and Psychonauts 2! We have listed the complete collection of games joining Game Pass Core.
