Jack Black has made a huge move to publicly criticize his Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass who spoke wrongly of Donald Trump. Black and Kyle Gass, the founders of the comedy rock band, are currently on tour. However, the remaining dates have been scrapped in light of Gass’ controversial comment on Trump’s recent assassination attempt.
On Tuesday, Black released a statement addressing Gass’ remark about Trump’s shooting. It happened that during Tenacious D’s performance in Sydney on Sunday, Gass wished that the assassination was successful. “Donโt miss Trump next time,” he said while being presented with a cake for his 64th birthday. “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday,” Black said of his bandmate’s words. The School of Rock actor voiced his disgust, saying he would never “condone hate speech or encourage any form of violence.”
In light of that, Black announced the cancellation of the rest of Tenacious D’s multi-city tour. “I no longer feel it’s appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold,” he expressed. Black concluded, appreciating fans for their understanding and support.
Kyle Gass Agrees With Jack Black, Takes Back Shooting Comment
Shortly after Black’s message, Gass issued a heartfelt statement apologizing for his actions. “The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous, and a terrible mistake,” he admitted.
The 64-year-old echoed his bandmate’s sentiments, declaring that he doesn’t condone violence in any form. The musician described the incident as a “tragedy” and sought forgiveness for his terrible lack of judgment.

Gass received an outpouring of support from fans in the comments, but he seems to have received less from his bandmate.
