Months have passed since Jazmine Sullivan‘s mom, Pamela, passed away, but the singer is still processing the loss. Recently, she took to social media with an emotional post, opening up about the profound impact of her mom’s death and how she is navigating through the grief. In the post, Sullivan admitted she was down and missed having her mom around. However, irrespective of the pain she would feel forever, she said smiling, laughing, and dancing were inevitable. In all, Jazmine Sullivan’s mom’s death will always be a heartbreaking memory, but the R&B star has the support of fans to keep her going.

Jazmine Sullivan Is Still in Pain After Mom’s Death

On July 24, 2023, fans were heartbroken following the news of Jazmine Sullivan’s mom’s death. The 37-year-old shared the tragedy on Instagram, revealing Pamela passed away at 64, two days before — she died nearly four years after a breast cancer diagnosis.

“I don’t have the words yet mommy. So for now I’ll say thank you. Rest now butterfly 🦋. 10/26/58- 07/22/23 💔,” Sullivan captioned a throwback photo of her mom. 

Nine months after her mom’s passing, the two-time Grammy Award winner is still reeling from the tragedy. On Tuesday, Sullivan took to Instagram with a heartfelt post, offering a glimpse into her journey of processing her mom’s loss. The songwriter shared a video, capturing moments that showed her happy, at peace, and in her element. The clip showed Sullivan in the gym, performing on stage, on vacation in the jungle, hanging out with friends, and doing other fun things. However, beneath the happiness, she admitted she was hurting. 

“I miss my mommy! I tried so hard to keep busy for my birthday to distract myself, but I don’t think it works like that,” Sullivan wrote in the caption.

She also revealed she cried throughout the month and would cry for the rest of her life. 

“But I’ll also smile, laugh, and dance in between the tears! So thank God for that! ❤,” she concluded.

Fans Offer Words of Encouragement to Jazmine Sullivan 

In no time, fans flooded the comments section with support and encouragement. 

“Ride the waves. You made her so proud and continue to do so. She’s always on the walk with you ❤,” one fan wrote. 

Another fan shared: 

“We love you Jazmine!! It’s okay to cry. Just know your angel is always going to be here looking over you, and I’m sure she’s proud of what she sees.” 

A third supportive person stated: 

“I lost my dad so I understand. Praying for you always Jazmine. Sending you love from Jamaica.” 

Similarly, celebrities weren’t left out. 

“I love you so bad. We’re all praying for you,” SZA wrote. 

Tye Tribett also commented: 

“Peace to the mind and comfort to the heart my sister❤.” 

Other celebrities, such as Tichi Arnold, Lexi Arnold, Kandi Burruss, and Eva Marcille, also supported and encouraged Jazmine Sullivan as she continues to deal with her mom’s death.
