Justin Bieber is continuing to worry fans. On Thursday, Feb. 27, the singer shared a video of himself smoking on his Instagram Story. Since this comes amid rumors that he’s suffering from drug use, fans are concerned he’s not doing okay, and his latest social media behavior may prove it.
Fans Can’t Ignore Justin Bieber’s Latest Behavior
During the clip, Justin Bieber is seen enjoying a blunt cigar. He smiles while inhaling thick clouds of smoke and then exhales straight into the camera. Don Toliver’s “Hardstone National Anthem” could be heard playing in the background of the video. While Bieber seemed happy jamming out to the rapper, fans didn’t think he was healthy. “It feels like he’s unraveling. He needs help,” one comment read. “This is so sad and scary,” another person wrote. One fan even claimed he aged “overnight” since he looked “56” years old.
Others shamed Bieber for his “bizarre” social media behavior. Since he was married and had recently become a father, people thought the pop star should be acting more mature online. “Imagine you have a newborn and behave like this,” someone commented underneath the Justin Bieber smoking video.
Days before the video of Bieber smoking went viral, the singer shared a “strange” clip of himself and a friend goofing off on Instagram. The clip featured him rapping a song about being “high” as his friend smoked beside him. His post sparked discourse online since many thought Bieber looked so unwell that he was unrecognizable.

Justin Bieber’s smoking video come amid rumors he may be using hard drugs. According to TMZ, a rep for the star insisted he’s clean. “He’s not high on substances, but, just on life,” the publication wrote, adding that Bieber is in a really good place. He’s been focusing on raising his son, Jack Blues, with his wife, Hailey Bieber. He’s also been enjoying returning to the studio after years of taking a hiatus from music. The source added that the pop star recently ended “several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.” So, in short, he’s supposedly thriving.
The last time Justin Bieber released solo music was four years ago. Just weeks after celebrating his 27th birthday, Bieber released his sixth studio album, Justice, in March 2021. The record featured several guest artists, including the Kid Laroi, Dominic Fike, and Daniel Caesar. The project was a huge success, resulting in hit singles like “Peaches” and “Lonely.”
The latter featured Benny Blanco, who recently got engaged to Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, in December 2024. Even though Bieber and Gomez have been broken up for years, rumor has it the “Ghosts” singer felt “betrayed” by her engagement. Since he and Blanco were friends, Bieber supposedly never thought the record producer would go after his ex-girlfriend. Fans have theorized the situation may have caused a rift between Bieber and his wife. However, the couple has insisted several times that they’re doing well. But just like the drug rumors, fans aren’t convinced it’s all sunshines and rainbows for the Biebers behind the scenes.
