Instead of using a smart device or phone to play Christmas music for her children during the month of December, Kardashian hires West’s pianist to play her children awake every single morning.
According to The U.S. Sun, Kim Kardashian is keeping a family tradition alive despite her divorce from Kanye West. The tradition first started when the rapper hired his friend, Grammy-winning pianist Philip Cornish, to play music to wake up his children every day in December.
“Kanye and Philip have been good friends and collaborators for years. It was all Kanye’s idea to bring him into the house,” the source revealed. “He thought it was a peaceful, creative way to add some magic into the kids’ holiday routine and he insisted on it. Despite Kim originally not fully being on board, she felt it was unnecessary at first.
Despite the fact that Kim and Kanye have divorced, the mother of four still keeps that holiday magic alive. Of course, it’s all for her children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Sources tell the outlet that Kim and the kids have grown to love Philip’s presence at their home during the holidays. However, it doesn’t come without a price. Kardashian is said to be paying the musician six figures for his holiday services.

“Philip would do it for free and even tells Kim that but he does get paid. Rather than per day, it’s a lump sum – which at this point is now well into the six figures,” the informant dished.
The insider went on to reveal that Philip enjoys the time he spends with Kim and her family in the month of December. He’s treated well by the family in addition to his pay. He’s said to be given additional holiday gifts, food from the family’s chef, and more. The pianist lives close to the Kardashian-West family and doesn’t seem to mind popping in daily for some early-morning tunes.
Meanwhile, Philip Cornish is more than just the guy who plays the West children to wake each morning. He’s also said to be teaching oldest daughter, North, how to play the piano. Through the years, he’s become like a member of the family. He’s also a huge part of the holiday season for Kardashian.
Fans Call Out Kim For Bizarre Family Tradition
Of course, fans weren’t exactly loving the idea of Kim Kardashian shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars for the over-the-top holiday service. Instead, many believed that the money could have been used for the greater good during the season of giving.
“I’m sorry, but this is so tone-deaf and unnecessary. The kids are so spoiled rotten it’s not good for them,” one person commented.
“Just think of how many people their money could help if they didn’t waste it on stupid s–t like this,” another critic wrote.

It seems that Kim Kardashian has no problem spending a pretty penny on things that enrich her children’s lives. This could be to make their holidays brighter and keep them feeling close to their father, Kanye West. It’s unclear if the kids got to see their dad for Christmas this year. He and his wife, Bianca Censori have been living in Japan as he works on his new album. Either way, it appears that the West children had a piece of their father with them, thanks to their very own pianist.
