Microsoft released some big news regarding a popular gaming franchise! At the Microsoft X019 event in London, Square Enix and Disney revealed that the entire Kingdom Hearts story is coming to Xbox One and Xbox One X. So far, the only title in the franchise available on Xbox One is the third game. Soon, players who haven’t played through the entire story will have a chance to play to do so!

Two different collections will release on Xbox One and Xbox One X. Finally, Xbox players can experience the full saga with this collection. 1.5 + 2.5 includes Kingdom Hearts, Re: Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts II, Birth by Sleep, and Re: Coded. Meanwhile, 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue has Dream Drop Distance and two new stories: A Fragmentary Passage and a cinematic movie that delves into the history of the Keyblade called Back Cover. Additionally, three of the titles are the Final Mix versions which feature bonus content not included in the original release.

Kingdom Hearts: Past and Future

Soon, Kingdom Hearts III will receive its first DLC, ReMind, in the winter of 2019. The game’s release almost a year ago hopefully means that the coming content is a big offering. Also, anybody eager to try the latest game in the series can download a demo that takes players to Olympus and one of the new worlds.

Kingdom Hearts began back in 2002 on the PlayStation 2 system. The blend of Square Enix’s gameplay in addition to Disney icons won players over. The series has moved from console to console, with the main entries staying on PlayStation. However, players waited a long time after Kingdom Hearts II for a proper sequel to be announced. When it was finally revealed, Square Enix surprised players by revealing that the new game would be available for the first time on a Microsoft console.

The collections will release in 2020 on Xbox consoles. Additionally, players who purchase the digital copy through November 22nd will receive a 67% discount. Are you excited to have the series on Xbox? Do you think Square Enix will begin working on a collection for Nintendo Switch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
