Kourtney Kardashian recently let some old family drama slip when she appeared as little sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast guest. The eldest of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings didn’t hold back when it came to childhood memories or about her experience welcoming stepdad Caitlyn Jenner into the family. However, it wasn’t all sunshine and roses. Kourt claims that Caitlyn was too strict and controlling for her liking, which led to some major tension within the family.
During Khloe Kardashian’s latest Khloe in Wonder Land podcast, she and Kourtney Kardashian dished on all things family. Kourtney opened up about her own role as a stepmother to husband Travis Barker‘s children, Alabama and Landon. She also spoke out about how she used her own experience with having Caitlyn Jenner as a stepfather to become a better bonus mom.
Kourtney told her younger sister that she never tries to “be the disciplinary” when it comes to her stepchildren. She knows it’s not her role, and Khloe applauded her for that. This led to a discussion about Caitlyn and the two sisters having very different experiences with their stepfather.
Kourtney Kardashian Dishes On Caitlyn Jenner’s Intense Parenting
“[Caitlyn] never tried to be Dad and I always appreciated and respected that,” Khloe said. However, Kourtney was quick to disagree, revealing that she had a totally different outlook about their former stepdad, who was married to Kris Jenner from 1991 to 2013.
“Okay, so, that wasn’t my experience, but maybe that’s why it became your experience. So [I’m] grateful for that for you,” Kourtney said. Instead, she says Caitlyn “tried to be controlling and bossy” during her childhood.
Kourt shared memories of Caitlyn telling her that “certain friends” couldn’t come over to their house. She even said that Caitlyn would “hang up the phone” when she tried to call her father, Robert Kardashian Sr. “We would have yelling wars,” Kourtney admitted.
The Poosh founder revealed that her issues with Caitlyn eventually caused her to leave her mother’s home and her siblings behind and move in with her father. For her part, Khloe seemed shocked that Kourtney and Caitlyn had so many problems, as she always thought of her stepfather “did so well” striking a balance and not stepping on Robert’s toes.
“Divorce is ugly. You can tell Kourtney was very loyal and close to her dad,” one person commented.
“I think it’s horrible the way they talk about her now. She came into their lives when they were pretty young and did her best!” another person stated.
The bad blood between Kourtney Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner eventually died down as she grew older. However, Kourtney uses her own experience when parenting her children and stepchildren.
