Life is Strangeย developerย DONTNODย Entertainment announced in a special message thatย a second season of the popular episodic game is currently inย development. DONTNODย also said that Life is Strangeย reached an achievement of 3 million unique players, and thanked the “fantastic community” for letters, gifts, and more. According to the video, the Life is Strangeย team at DONTNODย has been working on a new game since the release of the season 1 boxed version last year.

Life is Strange

Set in the fictional town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon, inย Life is Strangeย players take control of Max Caulfield, a photography studentย who discovers her powerย to rewind time. Decisions you make throughout the game soon create a “butterfly effect”, and have a lasting impact the more Max tries to stop both environmental and man-madeย disasters. The game was quickly praised for its narrative and depth of characters, in addition to the environment of the Pacific Northwest.

The good news from all of this is that there is aย Life is Strange 2ย on the way. The unfortunate news, at least for right now, is we don’t know anything about it. In the lastย episode of the game, “Polarized”, players have toย make one ofย two tough decisions. While one decision might be a little more finalย than the other, there is still more than enough material to explore with the second season and still many questions that could be answered.ย What is also uncertain is whether the second season will pick up with the mainย characters, Max and Chloe, or even if it will be set in Arcadia Bay at all. You can read part of DONTNOD’sย statement regarding that below:

We canโ€™t wait to tell you all about it when the time is right, but for now we are hard at work ensuring it is the very best game we can create. Weโ€™re really thankful for your patience thus far and ask for a bit more time. The new game will not be at E3 in June this year but we will be watching the show alongside you all and wish everyone good luck!

Life is Strange

Last year, a live-action TV show ofย Life is Strangeย was announced, with Square Enix stating the show would be available for digital streaming services and in partnership with Legendary Pictures.ย There has not been any more news about the show since then.
