Fallout 4ย has its share of controversy, but a user-made modification of the gameย has drawn ire from Major League Baseball.
The MLB organization has taken aim at Texas resident Richie Branson, the author of a PC third-party modification thatย adds the jersey of popular Boston Red Sox sluggerย David Ortiz to the game. The MLB stated the modification is copyright infringement.
A spokesperson for the organization told the Boston Globe, “We plan to enforce those rights.”

Branson told the Globe that he created the mod to make the game feel more authentic. After all, the game features Boston and some of its landmark geographical and architectural settings. As IGN.com pointed out, one of the game’s main locations is Diamond City: a place that was built in the remains of Fenway Park, which has been the home of the Red Sox since 1912.
Branson said the inclusion of Ortiz’s jersey was fitting because Ortiz is a “heavy hitter” and it was the only missing element fromย Fallout 4.
“Heโs big, heโs massive, so I figured heโd be the right one to survive the apocalypse,” said Branson.
The game features the Big Leagues perk, which allows players to increase their melee damage with objects including baseball bats. At rank 5, the highest rank that players can achieve with that perk, players get a chance to “grand slam their head clean off!”
