Even more surprisingly, the snap made it to the official social media pages of both the crooner and the future King of England.
A dream come true for both parties it seemed, but the Sussexes took a punch for it. Reports confirm that Meghan Markle attempted to reach out to Taylor Swift last year, to have her feature on her Archetypes podcast. However, despite taking the pain to draft a personal letter to the most celebrated singer of the season, Taylor turned down the podcast invitation.
Taylor Swift Unapologetically Snubs Meghan Markle Again
In another instance, Meghan Markle attended a Taylor Swift concert in Los Angeles last year, but never got the backstage treatment from her. While these two earlier snubs may seem like a mere coincidence, having the star excitedly welcome the Prince and his kids at Wembley, is a far cry from her reception of the Sussexes. American commentator Kinsey Schofield discussed the disparity in the two treatments, suggesting Taylor clearly sided with one team over the other and made it glaring. She divulged,
“I think we are seeing our Taylor side with Team Wales here over the last few hours. Also, you know, a lot of people pointing out the pictures of Meghan and Harry at the Beyoncé concert, where Harry looks pretty miserable versus Prince William shaking his tail feather at the Taylor Swift concert.”
Kinsey believes this clear preferential treatment from Taylor Swift has Meghan Markle seething with jealousy. The Cruel Summer singer is hardly the first celebrity to pick the opposing team in the feud between Prince Harry and Prince Williams. Harry’s former neighbors and friends David and Victoria Beckham have been in the headlines for their close relationship with King Charles and Prince William.
The former soccer player even snagged an appointment as an ambassador for the King Foundation amid speculations of his fallout with the Sussexes. With even celebs leaning towards the more fortified front in this beef, the pressure on Harry and Meghan to make peace with the royals is becoming increasingly tougher, with their relevance on the line.
