This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information.

Many supplemental fantasy books that are put to market focus on the various fantastic realms created by modern day authors, with few focusing on the ripe cultures and mythologies that can be found in the ancient world; Men and Monsters of Ethiopia is here to attempt to remedy this situation, at least in part, by acting as a sourcebook for use with 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons.

Men and Monsters of Ethiopia seek to bring the culture, the mythology, the people, and, of course, the monsters of Ethiopia to your 5th edition game.  Included in the book are 17 new monsters with 29 stat blocks, 20 pre-existing monsters that have been adapted for life in Ethiopia, 11 different rolls for NPC’s within Ethiopian society, with 5 stat blocks for entirely new NPC types. The book includes various sections on the religions and animals in the region as well as encounter tables for everything.

Men and Monsters

Men and Monsters of Ethiopia was written and is being published by the fine folks at Skirmisher Publishing and is being distributed online at drivethruRPG.com.

Do you think that all fantasy RPGs need to stay where they belong, in the fantasy world? Do you think that all of those pure fantasy people are nuts and that we need a more real world in our fantasy play?  Are you just happy to hear about Men and Monsters of Ethiopia?  We would be very interested to hear about it in the comments section.
