Capcom have just released details on a new Monster Hunter game for the 3DS, Not messing around and hot on the heels of Monster Hunter 4’s February release, The super imaginatively named Monster Hunter X (cross), via their Nintendo Direct presentation in Japan earlier Today.

Looking to release in Japan in the Winter and with no western release date as of yet Monster Hunter X looks to boost new super actions for characters weapons, I liked the hugely oversized and massively flashy bow and arrow that looks like it explodes as well as taking up half the characters body, but hey what do I know, I just write about games, they spend their time fighting oversized monsters with oversized weapons.

It’s said to be taking the action and making it stylish and varied enough that everyone can find their own unique style with 4 different play styles, new areas and new monsters added to the huge existing roster.

Hopefully after Monster Hunter 4’s western release and huge success this game will follow soon after. Originally released in Japan on September 13th 2013 and later releasing the Enhanced Edition named Monster Hunter 4G on October 11th 2014 allowing players to utilise Monster Hunter 4 saves this edition was later released in North America and Europe under the name Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, releasing alongside the New 3DS release on February 13th 2015.

Oh hey look a giant monster.

The game was praised as being the best in the series scoring an average of 86/100 on MetaCritic with sales of the title passing the 3 million mark shipped worldwide, with 290000 copies being sold in its first month in North America alone.

So with sales figures possibly higher than 3 million units and an ever growing fan base will Monster Hunter X see a European and North American release?

Are you ready for another Monster Hunter game?

Did you buy the game and absolutely suck at it like me?
