Actor and writer Stephanie Corneliussen, best known for her role in the Amazon Prime Video series Mr. Robot, has teamed up with Scandinavian producer Cindy Cederlund to form Soullanders Entertainment. The new production company, based out of L.A., already has several projects slated for development, with Corneliussen and Cederlund hoping to make headway in telling “socio-conscious” stories that need more attention. Among these stories is the thrillerย No Sympathy for the Devil and the TV seriesย Rogue, which David Unger’s production company has also boarded.

Stephanie Corneliussen is best known for her role as Joanna Wellick in Mr. Robot, a 2015 drama-thriller series by Sam Esmail. The series, which ran for four seasons, starred Rami Malek as Elliot Anderson, a vigilante hacker recruited to help a hacktivist group take down the massive E Corp. Stephanie Corneliussen starred as Joanna Wellick, the wife of Tyrell Wellick, the Senior Vice President of Technology at E Corp. Corneliussen initially only had a recurring role in season of Mr. Robot before becoming a regular cast member in seasons 2-4 before the show concluded in 2019.

Cindy Cederlund, Corneliussen’s partner at Soullanders Entertainment, has most recently been an executive producer on Roll, an Israeli-Palestinian drama directed by Loris Lai. The film, which is Lai’s first, is set to be completed in the spring of 2024. Cederlund’s previous credits include a position on the crew ofย Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), starring Angelina Jolie and directed by Joachim Rรธnning.

When asked about the aim behind starting Soullanders, Stephanie Corneliussen told Deadline the following:

โ€œOur ambition at Soullanders is to make sure that women, and socio-conscious stories, are a part of the narrative being directed at future generations, through this very powerful medium that is film and television.โ€

In her own statement, Cederlund added, “The imitation-game between art and life rings especially true when it comes to storytelling,” and “We want to create legends, too.”

Some of the projects currently on the docket for Soullanders Entertainment include Rogue, a thriller series following the story of a young spy combatting the human trafficking industry, produced by David Unger and Artist International Group. No Sympathy for the Devil, a film exploring teen mental health, is reportedly in pre-production at Soullanders, along with House of Joy, which follows the lives of the women working at Montana’s Dumas brothel during the Progressive Era.

More information on these projects will likely be released as production continues.
