One of My Time at Sandrock’s core mechanics is gathering scrap and recycling it to gain building materials. While it does not entirely replace other machines, it remains useful throughout the main story. This guide will provide information on every scrap type currently available and what materials you can salvage from each in My Time at Sandrock Early Access.

My Time at Sandrock – All Scrap Types and Their Materials

Sandrock Scrap Types

Scrap is a recyclable material you gather from junk piles and ruined structures. The scrap you gain will change depending on the structure or pile type you harvest from. Below is a full list of every current scrap type and the different materials you can get from recycling them:

  1. Wood Scrap: Obtained from wooden scrap piles and Deadwood trees.
    1. 2-3 Dregs – Guaranteed
    2. 3+ Wood – High chance
    3. 1 Wooden Stick – High chance
  2. Stone Scrap: Obtained from stone junk piles in Eufaula Desert.
    1. 3 Dregs – Guaranteed
    2. 1 Brick – High chance
    3. 3+ Stone – High chance
    4. 1 Power Stone – Medium chance
    5. 1 Stone Slate – Low chance
  3. Copper Scrap: Obtained from Eufaula Salvage junk piles and copper scrap piles in Eufaula Desert.
    1. 1 Dreg – High chance
    2. 1 Copper Bar– High chance
    3. 1 Copper Stick – High chance
    4. 1 Power Stone – Medium chance
  4. Rubber Scrap: Obtained from Eufaula Salvage and Eufaula Desert rubber junk piles.
    1. 2-6 Dregs – Guaranteed
    2. 1-2 Rubber – Guaranteed
    3. 1 Rubber Shell – High chance
    4. 1 Rubber Tube – High chance
  5. Mechanical Scrap: Obtained from Eufaula Salvage junk piles.
    1. 2-6 Dregs – High chance
    2. 1 Bearing – High chance
    3. 1 Old Part – High chance
  6. Fine Wood Scrap: Obtained from Quality wood scraps in Eufaula Desert.
    1. 2-6 Dregs – Guaranteed
    2. 3+ Hard Wood – High chance
    3. 1 Hardwood Stick – High chance
  7. Iron Scrap: Obtained from Eufaula Salvage junk piles.
    1. 1 Dreg – High chance
    2. 1 Steel Bar – High chance
    3. 1 Iron Latch – Medium chance
    4. 1 Power Stone – Medium chance
  8. Plastic Scrap: Obtained from Plastic scrap piles in the Gecko Station region.
    1. 2-6 Dreg – High chance
    2. 1-2 Plastic – Guaranteed
    3. 1 Plastic Shell – High chance
    4. 1 Plastic Pipe – High chance
  9. Food Scrap: Obtained from looting waste around Wandering Y Ranch.
    1. Non-recyclable, you can consume it to regain a small amount of stamina.

While some scraps, such as Wood and Stone, are available from the tutorial, others require progression through the main story and tool upgrades. For example, you need a bronze axe to destroy Fine Wood junk piles. Similarly, you won’t encounter Iron Scrap until later in the story.

My Time at Sandrock Early Access is available starting May 26, 2022, on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
