It is that time to say goodbye to a flagship series. Netflix has set up the release dates for the sixth and final season of The Crown, and yes, we said dates, as it will be split into two parts. A new trailer delivers this announcement as the first four episodes will debut on the streamer on November 16 and the final six on December 14 (seen below).

Bow to the Queen One Last Time in Two Parts as Netflix Sets Release Dates for the Final Season of The Crown

The streaming service’s announcement gives fans a sense of the journey they have been on. We see Queen Elizabeth II through the years, who has been played in the series by Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, and Imelda Staunton.

The final season of The Crown will bring back core cast members with some new additions as historical people. Returning, we will see Staunton back as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pyrce as Prince Phillip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Salim Daw as Mohamad Al Fayed, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed. Coming aboard for the final run of the Emmy-winning series will be Rufus Kampa as Prince William and Fflyn Edwards as Prince Harry.

Splitting The Crown into two parts for its final season has been a trend for Netflix in recent years. For Ozark, the Jason Bateman-led crime drama, had its first seven episodes released in January 2022 and the other seven that April. It was not even the final outing for Stranger Things, but its fourth season changed up its release method by dropping the first seven episodes in May 2022 and the final two super-sized episodes that July. The experimentation of how the streaming service releases shows has largely been on its popular projects.

You can catch up to The Crown on Netflix before the first batch of episodes for its final season drops on November 16 and the last run on December 14.
