Another Wednesday, another stack of new comic books waiting for comic junkies at their local comic shops. This is another great week for new comic selections as the Marvel event Secret Empire is coming to a close with book #10, a new Saga issue is dropping (Always something to celebrate), and a few new ongoing series are hitting shelves. Here are some highlights:
Secret Empire #10
I know this has taken the top spot the last few new comic book day posts, but this will be the last time. I promise.
The last issue turned out to be fairly uneventful, the biggest change was Steve getting his partial cosmic cube-powered Iron Man suit. Seems like overkill, but the big fight is coming and it’s basically Hydra Steve Rogers and a handful of oft-defeated villains vs. the combined forces of Earth’s mightiest heroes. We know from the Generations books that some characters will be sent into alternate realities by the aftermath of Secret Empire, so whatever happens it’s sure to be big.
Saga #46
The universe-spanning adventures of Alana, Marko and Hazel continue to test what it means to be a family in a world swirling with war and magic and chaos. Somehow every new comic lives up to the impressively high bar set by this series in both art and writing. As anyone that’s read Saga will tell you, you need to be reading Saga.
Deadpool #10
After joining Roger’s Hydra-style Avengers team, Deadpool has had a change of heart and wants to take the fight to the Supreme Commander himself. Can Wade end Hydra single-handedly and be the biggest of heroes in this Secret Empire tie-in?
Star Wars: Mace Windu — Jedi Of The Republic #1
For over a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the peacekeepers of the galaxy…but now, at the dawn of the Clone Wars, they find themselves in a new role: generals in the Army of the Republic.
