Owen Wilson and the Time Variance Authority might get even more screen time than previously thought in Loki on Disney+. This comes following a brand-new trailer released by Marvel Entertainment on April 5. Although Wilson, playing TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius was featured in the seriesโ initial trailer, the first look centered around a time-jumping Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) following his escape with the Tesseract during the events of the โtime heistโ in Avengers: Endgame.

The new trailer begins with Loki in the custody of the TVA with an opening shot showing not only Loki in handcuffs and a control collar and with the Tesseract confiscated from him.
The trailer features a less heroic-looking Loki than some fans might be comfortable with. This isn’t a surprise, however. This “variant” of Loki isn’t the same Loki who died at the hands of Thanos. This version arrives soon after the โAttack on New York.” The trailer also unveils a clearly antagonistic relationship between Loki and Mobius, who is not only in the TVAโs headquarters but also out on missions.
If this trailer holds true for the Disney+ series, we’ll see more of Mobius and follow TVA agents than previously thought.
Near the end of the trailer, Mobius claims to have โstudied almost every moment of [Lokiโs] entire lifeโ to explain why he doesnโt trust Loki, which underscores moments earlier when Loki says, โIโm ten steps ahead of you.โ It gives viewers a feeling that while these two may be on X-Files/Quantum Leap-style missions, thereโs also a Suicide Squad bend to them, as Loki is part unwilling hero and part villain throughout the series.
It remains to be seen just how much redemption arc weโll see out of Loki in this series without the events of Thor: Ragnarok ever happening for this variant of the character.
Season two for the upcoming show is reportedly already in development. Disney+ has been making big headlines lately following the success ofย WandaVision. Marvel Studiosย is also reportedly already in development on a spinoff forย Hawkeyeย as well.
In addition to Hiddleston and Wilson, the show stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Richard E. Grant, and Sasha Lane. Loki will premier on Disney+ on June 11.
