Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct presentation scheduled for Thursday, March 27, at 7 am PT / 10 am ET / 2 pm GMT. The 30-minute presentation will focus exclusively on games set to release for the original Nintendo Switch, with no announcements planned for the upcoming Switch 2.

This Direct comes ahead of a separate Switch 2-focused Nintendo Direct, which is set to take place next week on April 2. Nintendo has confirmed that all hardware and software announcements for the Switch 2 will be saved for that event.

Currently, the release schedule for the original Switch appears sparse, with only Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends: Z-A confirmed as first-party titles. The March 27 Direct will provide Nintendo with an opportunity to reveal additional games planned for the console in the months leading up to, and possibly beyond, the launch of the Switch 2.

Nintendo officially announced the Switch 2 in January with a short video showcasing the hardware and a brief look at a new Mario Kart game. A full reveal of the console is planned for April 2, during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct, which will take place at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm BST / 3 pm CEST. During this event, Nintendo is expected to announce the consoleโ€™s release date and provide more details about the software lineup for the platform.

In addition to the April 2 Direct, Nintendo has announced plans to hold a series of Switch 2 preview events, allowing attendees to try out the console before its release. The tour will begin in New York and Paris on April 4, before expanding to locations across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia over the following two months.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa recently stated that the Switch 2 price will reflect the companyโ€™s focus on affordability. He also confirmed that measures will be implemented to prevent resellers, aka scalpers, from significantly impacting the availability of the console at launch.
