Another Nintendo Direct has come and gone with another slew of upcoming Switch games and announcements. Apart from Nintendo anticipated title announcements, a new Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass plan was announced. This grants gamers access to a selection of N64 games, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, and Dr Mario, along with a collection of SEGA Genesis games.

There were lots of mouth-watering announcements about many upcoming Switch games at the event. However, this post focuses on Nintendo anticipated title announcements for games coming to the Switch this year and beyond. Hence, from the highly anticipated Bayonetta 3 to the new Kirby game, we have compiled the most hyped titles announced at the Nintendo Direct event.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak DLC

One of the most anticipated announcements, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak DLC kicked off the show. The game arrives in the summer of 2022. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will provide tons of new quests and other elements that will surely excite gamers.

Mario Party Superstars

The highly anticipated title Mario Party Superstars was announced at the Nintendo Direct event to arrive on October 29 this year. The game will feature five boards from the earlier Nintendo 64 version. This includes Woody Woods, Yoshi’s Tropical Island and Horror Land. It was also announced that all minigames included on Mt Minigames would be available for online play.

Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars

“You’re about to take your first steps of adventure…”

Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars was announced to Launch on October 28. The card battle game features turn-based card battles, which title developer Alim up to be a “spell-binding experience”. A demo version is already available, and you can pre-order the title today.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut

Disco Elysium is getting the Switch treatment in mid-October, with a physical retail version coming in early 2022.

The fan-favorite detective RPG will be every bit like its PC counterpart and has been upgraded with new voice acting, animations, and quests.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass

Developers have heeded the fans’ cries, providing a much-anticipated instalment to the Age of Calamity Expansion Pass. Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance drops on October 29. The game will feature new playable characters (Purah, Robbie and one other), new actions for existing characters, and new stages.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby is coming back! I mean, we sort of knew this already before the event. But it was still great to hear.

Also announced at the Nintendo Direct event, in Spring 2022, Kirby will return for more epic adventures. Kirby will explore an abandoned city, a jungle, an arcade, and other 3D landscapes. The game will retain the classic Kirby elements. Hence, we see the character floating cutely through abandoned, post-apocalyptic terrains, running on rails, and jumping on rocks in the trailer.

Bayonetta 3

Finally, Bayonetta 3 will be debut in 2022–five years after it was first announced during the Game Awards in 2017.

The title, which debuted with its first installment in 2009 was a hit among fans. Hence, in 2012, a second installment release was announced exclusively for Wii U. It took five years to have the 2017 announcement, which has now taken four years more to materialize.

Some new gameplay showed everyone’s favourite witch, dueling some Kaiju in an action-packed sequence.

Splatoon 3

Fans were treated to a two-minute-long trailer for Splatoon 3, which won’t arrive until 2022. The game will see the inclusion of new power-ups, with a “Return of the Mammalians” story mode. Because, well, mammals have disappeared off the face of the planet, sorta. But still have our two cool cats, so no need to fret.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Coming November 11, the surprise release will give Switch gamers a new experience with the Bioware Star Wars RPG in its original form. This should be a fun way to pass the time until the previously announced Console and PC remake is ready.
