The Life Cycle of the Nintendo Switch
Furukawa is confident about Nintendo’s hybrid console, and it’s hard not to share some of that same confidence. Since its debut in 2017, the Nintendo Switch has been a massive success from both a financial and critical viewpoint. Why has everyone loved this console so much? Well, we can talk about the high-quality titles that have released on the system. Games such as Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Or we can discuss the incredible ability to take the Nintendo console from your house and go anywhere with it. And luckily for fans of the Switch, it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. In the same Q&A, Furukawa said that the Switch is just in the middle of its life cycle:
โWe believe that the Nintendo Switch business is now in its fourth year and is just in the middle of its life cycle. Rather than just the next year, I think about things in terms of what to do the following year and the year after that.โ
