Fights on school grounds are always nasty, especially once the parents get called. What was expected to be a civil discussion about a violent daughter, however, quickly turned into another fight after a North Carolina mom started attacking the school officials, including the principal. The mother has since been arrested after causing some worrying injuries to school officials.
The incident happened in Randolph Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina, back on May 5. 33-year-old Mariah Hector was called into school because her daughter was involved in a fight. The trouble grew worse as Hector got into the school and became hostile, at which point she was asked to leave. Instead of leaving, however, she went berserk.
Hector allegedly pushed an employee away, shoved the school principal, Jennifer Schroeder, into a wall, and then choked the assistant superintendent, Jennifer Dean, with both hands around her neck. Thankfully, the assistant superintendent didn’t faint, though she had difficulty breathing and her neck had hand marks after getting choked.
The altercation was so bad that the police who responded to the scene had to place the whole school on lockdown. One would think that the whole chaos would be over once the police had taken control of the situation, but another person outside caused more trouble.
Trinity Nixon, 20 years old, allegedly trespassed into the school despite being told off by an employee. She then started cursing and yelling on the school grounds before getting arrested. It’s not clear what her connection was to Mariah Hector.
“[Principal Schroeder would be] away from campus at this time. We cannot provide information on the reason for the principal’s absence as this is a personnel issue,” according to the school, transcript courtesy of WBTV
Two weeks after the violent incidents in the school, Principal Jennifer Schroeder was also mysteriously suspended with pay. It’s unclear whether her suspension had anything to do with Mariah Hector or Trinity Nixon.
Learned Behavior?
Regardless of who Trinity Nixon was or what led to Principal Schroeder’s suspension, the most concerning part of the story is Mariah Hector’s parenting approach. Many have suspected that her behavior and impulsiveness are what led to her daughter getting involved in a fight.
For the record, the school officials didn’t exactly reveal to the media whether it was Mariah Hector’s daughter who started the fight, just like how the mother started assaulting the school authorities. Still, some have quickly assumed that the mom’s temperament was the root of the school trouble, and that poor parenting was what led to the weirdly violent situation back on May 5.

“Totally had this happen at a middle school I used to teach at. Suspended two girls for fighting and both sets of parents arrived at the same time to pick them up and immediately began throwing hands in the parking lot,” recalls pomonamike
