If you’re looking for a great horror experience, a few great titles come to mind. Chances are Resident Evil 7, The Evil Within, and Dead Space are all on that page. There are a few horror titles though that are lesser-known but highly regarded by fans as some of the best horror games out there. One such game is Bloober Team’s Observer, a first-person psychological horror title that’s been out on PC and major consoles for some time. They’ve been hard at work on some next-gen, visually enhanced versions of the game, and today have some exciting news to share. Observer: System Redux is a launch title for next-gen consoles, releasing on November 10 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and November 12 for PlayStation 5. You can find the latest trailer for the game, shown at Gamescom, below.

What is Observer: System Redux?

Observer: System Redux follows the story of Daniel Lazarski, a detective in the future city of Krakow. He’s a part of the Observers police unit, a group of trained officers who can hack people’s minds. In this future, anything you think, say, or do can be used against you. Using the tools in hand, you must hack people’s brains and discover their fears and actions as you try to find an elusive killer. This won’t prove easy though, as soon Daniel discovers the case is a lot more personal than he could’ve imagined.

The original game is fully enhanced in Observer: System Redux, offering heaps of improvements. As expected, there are serious visual changes that make use of next-gen hardware. These include 4K textures, new animations, fresh models, ray-tracing, and more! On top of visual changes though, Observer introduces several new missions to the game. These not only provide additional gameplay but also more story insights to immerse you further into this future world.

It’s no doubt going to be an enjoyable remaster, filled with plenty of fresh content for new and veteran players. Will you be trying Observer: System Redux? What hidden horror game is your favorite? Let me know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
