After the RPG craze and the imminent release of the next DOOM adventure, Xbox Game Pass has added Warhammer: Vermintide 2 for those looking for some co-op fun. A few of you might be familiar with Warhammer from other universes, whether it is the 40K CRPG, the RTS universe, or the recent Space Marines one. However, Vermintide 2 has been one of the most beloved by the fanbase and one that has years of content behind it. So, if you’ve been wanting to join an engaging co-op experience with some friends and at an accessible price, now’s the perfect chance.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Is Available Now on Xbox Game Pass
While Warhammer: Vermintide 2 isn’t the new kid on the block, it is one of the most famous to join the Xbox Game Pass lineup. This first-person co-op adventure puts you in the shoes of different heroes trying to fend off the Skaven horde and the Chaos army. While the character selection might seem small, there are many customization options regarding gameplay. The game features 15 talent trees and over 50 weapon types, meaning you’ll spend a lot of time mastering the dozens of ways to kill Skaven.
Furthermore, co-op games have been a bit scarce lately, with only a few coming out on top. Even if Warhammer: Vermintide 2 launched back in 2018, it’s still standing strong thanks to its dedicated playerbase and constant updates by the developers. For instance, the game celebrated its anniversary a few months ago, giving players double experience rates, a new versus map, and more. So, you’ll still be jumping into a very alive game with support behind it.
Years of DLC Await You

While it seems the Xbox Game Pass version of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 only includes the base game, there’s a lot of DLC for you to get. Some post-launch updates include new careers for characters, such as the Necromancer one. Others include cosmetic items, and a few include brand-new weapons for you to wield during the fight. Still, you’ll find a lot of content in the base game only, and if you enjoy it, you can consider buying the DLC for your favorite characters or getting a few cosmetics to bring that Skaven-slaying drip to the battlefield.
While we are already in the middle of May, there are a few more titles coming in the next weeks. Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and Police Simulator: Squad Officers are coming on May 20. So, if you’d rather play something more “grounded,” these ones are a great option. Yet, if you prefer some chaotic fun, you can try Warhammer: Vermintide 2 or jump into DOOM: The Dark Ages, which has received a lot of praise from everyone who got to review it. Regardless, it’s a great month for Xbox Game Pass, and we only hope it continues like that as we move toward the summer releases.
