Console launch titles always seem to be fairly thin on numbers, and the PlayStation 5 is no exception with the number of games launching on Sony’s brand new machine being pretty low. In news that would make
Destruction AllStarsย has been described as a multiplayer vehicular combat game that will see PlayStation 5 owners facing off against others online as one of 16 different playable characters, each with their own vehicle traits. Despite the factย AllStarsย will no longer release at launch, it’s not all bad news as Sony has confirmed in their blog a new release date of February 2021, which is not actually all that far away if you think about it.
Not only that but the title will now become a PlayStation Plus game for 2 months from the launch at no additional cost. If you pay for Plus and you have pre-ordered it I’d call that a win, especially when considering just how much next-gen games will now cost. Any pre-orders from the PlayStation Store will be refunded.
Should you need to whet your appetite forย Destruction AllStars, it was also announced that a trailer and new details on the game will be coming next week, just so we can see what we are (temporarily) missing out on.
Let me know your thoughts on this delay in the comments. Personally, I see it as a good thing as not only will the game get polished, but it will also save players some upfront money. That and the install base for PlayStation 5 should be higher in February, meaning more players to play against. Assuming we can actually all buy one by then.
