PlayStation Now is making the leap to PC !

Revealed on the PlayStation blog August 23, PS Now will bring games to PC that were previously never available “will bring a wide selection of PlayStation exclusive titles to Windows PC for the very first time, including entries in the Uncharted, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank franchises, as well as beloved PS3 games like The Last of Us and Journey.”

PlayStation Now is a subscription based service that offers a large catalog of games for download while your subscription is active. If you’ve downloaded a game and your subscription ends the title will be unavailable to play.

As of now, the total PlayStation Now library sits at over 400 titles.

Equally exciting is the new USB wireless adaptor unveiled, which connects the DualShock 4 to computers completely chord free “DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor, which launches in early September for a suggested retail price of $24.99 ($29.99 CAD). This adaptor will let you connect a DualShock 4 to PC and Mac wirelessly, and will enable every feature of the controller you know and love: buttons, analog sticks, touchpad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo headset jack โ€“ as long as the gaming application supports these features.”

The adaptor can also be used with remote play for PC and Mac.

The blog also lists the recommended specs for running PS Now on your rig:

  • Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
  • 300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port
  • 5Mbs connection required

While no official launch date has been given, the blog entry suggests it will be available in Europe soon, and shortly after in North America.

The latest PlayStation developments include the much rumored PlayStation Neo, a more powerful version of the PS4 which is rumored to be officially announced in September.
