After getting through all the gym battles in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, it’s finally time to face down the Pokémon League. Otherwise known as the Elite Four and the Champion. Since there’s no stopping to head to the Pokémon Center to heal, you need to know the Elite Four weaknesses if you want to succeed.

The Elite Four Weaknesses in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

Before you kick off your seemingly endless battle with the Elite Four, be sure that all of your Pokémon are ready. Max out the friendships you need to level everyone up so that they’re at their best. A team that’s at least Level 55 is a safe bet. Also, you’ll want to have a good deal of items since the Elite Four will make use of their healing items. Keep a lot of Max Potions, Max Revives, and Max Elixirs, for example.

Now that we’re prepped on that end, let’s look at the Elite Four’s Pokémon and their weaknesses. This is for your first encounter with the trainers.

#1. Elite Four Aaron

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl Aaron

Aaron is mainly a Bug-type Pokémon trainer, but his highest level stands in contrast to that.

Beautifly Bug/Flying 53 Electric, Fire, Flying, Ice
Vespiquen Bug/Flying 53 Electric, Fire, Flying, Ice

Drapion Poison/Dark 57 Ground

#2. Elite Four Bertha

Hippowdon Ground 59 Grass, Ice, Water

#3. Elite Four Flint

The third Elite Four fight in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl enjoys fire-type. But Flint only has two, so versatility is key to taking advantage of his weaknesses.

Pokémon Type Level Weaknesses
Rapidash Fire 58 Ground, Rock, Water
Steelix Steel/Ground 57 Fighting, Fire, Ground, Water
Drifblim Ghost/Flying 58 Dark, Electric, Ghost, Ice, Rock
Lopunny Normal 57 Fighting
Infernape Fire/Fighting 61 Flying, Ground, Psychic, Water

#4. Elite Four Lucian

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl Lucian

Lucian specializes in Psychic-type Pokémon. All of his Pokémon have the ability.

Pokémon Type Level Weaknesses
Mr. Mime Psychic/Fairy 59 Ghost, Poison, Steel
Girafarig Normal/Psychic 59 Bug, Dark
Medicham Fighting/Psychic 60 Fairy, Flying, Ghost
Alakazam Psychic 60 Bug, Dark, Ghost
Bronzong Steel/Psychic 63 Dark, Fire, Ghost, Ground

Once you defeat the Elite Four in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl the first time, you’ll (hopefully) be ready to take on the Champion.

In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, focusing on the weaknesses of the Elite Four is vital. As they mix things up, so should you. Just keep in mind the Pokémon we highlighted here and what they’re weak to. That way, you’ll come out of this with minimal bumps and bruises.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is available on Nintendo Switch.
