Pokémon GO How to Get Shiny Scizor
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

One of the main attractions of the “Bug Out!” Event in Pokémon GO is the Mega Scizor Raid, which can potentially generate a Shiny variant as a reward encounter. This Mega Raid will be appearing at Gyms until Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 20:00 local time, after which it won’t be easy to find Shiny Scizor. Standard Scizor is characterized by a shade of red that covers its entire insectoid exoskeleton. On the other hand, the body of the Shiny variant has a bright, lime-green tint, which is very distinguishable from the original. Accordingly, many Trainers will be eager to learn how to catch Shiny Scizor in Pokémon GO.

Participating in the Bug-related event’s Mega Scizor Raids will provide Trainers with a decent chance of catching Shiny Scizor in Pokémon GO. Of course, the probability is still low, but much better than encountering Shiny Scyther out in the wild.

Since there is no way to know if a Mega Scizor is Shiny from simply viewing it in-game, Trainers must first defeat the Raid Boss to encounter the Shiny variant as a possible reward. To beat Mega Scizor in a Pokémon GO Raid, players will need to know this pocket monster’s type and correlating weakness. Mega Scizor is a Bug- and Steel-type Pokémon that is highly vulnerable. Therefore, fans will need to assemble a group of monsters that can utilize this particular element. Nonetheless, remember that this Mega Raid Boss has 45,403 CP, meaning it will take more than one high-level Trainer to take it down. Additionally, be sure that all combatants are fully healed before entering the Raid.

Below is a list of some of the best Fire-type Pokémon to counter and defeat Mega Scizor in the Raid, potentially resulting in Shiny Scizor spawning as a reward in Pokémon GO.
