Team GO Rocket is at it again. So, it’s time to dust off your battle shoes and track them down. During the Pokemon Go Taken Treasures event, you’ll face several Team GO Rocket Grunts, and thanks to Special Research tasks, these fights will earn you awesome rewards. Anyone can jump into the Field Research tasks, but you must pay for that exclusive tier if you want the Timed Research tasks.

Taken Treasures Field Research Tasks & Rewards

There’s no better time than the present to jump into your game. The Pokemon Go Taken Treasures event lasts from January 27 to February 1 at 11:59 PM (local), so the only way to reap the benefits from the Special Research is to play now.

There are five Field Research tasks during the Pokemon Go Taken Treasures event. Completing them allows you to score encounters with various Pokemon, and some might even be shiny. Other tasks offer items like Charged TM. If a Pokemon can be shiny, we’ll mark it with an asterisk (*).

Timed Research Tasks and Rewards

In the Pokemon Go Taken Treasures event, you can pay $5.00 or your local equivalent to participate in the exclusive Timed Research. You have until January 31 at 11:59 PM to purchase your ticket for it. Afterward, you have until the Taken Treasures event ends to claim any rewards.

Taken Treasures in Pokemon Go gives you four steps if you want to complete the Timed Research. The immediate bonuses from each task are in parentheses. Alongside those, you’ll receive larger rewards:

Step 1

Rewards: 1,000 Stardust | x1 Egg Incubator | 1,000 XP

  • Spin 10 PokeStops (25 Poke Balls)
  • Defeat 5 Team GO Rocket Grunts (Bruxish encounter)
  • Make 20 curveball throws (15 Great Balls)

Step 2

Rewards: 2,000 Stardust | x3 Silver Pinap Berries | 2,000 XP

  • Catch 20 Pokemon (x5 Hyper Potions)
  • Transfer 25 Pokemon (Scraggy encounter)
  • Defeat 5 Team GO Rocket Grunts (x5 Revives)

Step 3

Rewards: 3,000 Stardust | x1 Incense | 3,000 XP

  • Make 30 curveball throws (x5 Max Revives)
  • Defeat 10 Team GO Rocket Grunts (Weezing encounter)
  • Catch 5 Shadow Pokemon (x5 Max Potions

Step 4

Rewards: 4,000 Stardust | x1 Boss Pose | 4,000 XP

  • Transfer 30 Pokemon (x3 Fast TMs)
  • Defeat 10 Team Go Rocket Grunts (Vullaby encounter)
  • Purify 10 Shadow Pokemon (x3 Charged TMs)

Time is of the essence here for Taken Treasures, so if you want to fill up some of those empty spots on your Pokemon Go Pokedex, then start participating in the Special Research tasks. If anything, you can just have fun defeating Team GO Rocket over and over again.
