Prince Harry opens up about the one time he felt genuine concern for his wife Meghan Markle following the success of the 2025 Invictus Games. Harry and Meghan united this month to attend the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada, putting their best foot forward in support of injured veterans. The event saw the duo actively lending their support from the stands, pumping up the athletes with their priceless speech, and still carving out time for some philanthropic visits, most notably to the Squamish community. In what many consider “a Meghan Markle show,” the Duke and Duchess’ public display of affection upstaged their benevolent actions, stirring media attention towards the Sussexes’ love story.
Midway into the Invictus Games, Meghan Markle made the surprising move to return to Montecito to be with her kids Archie and Lilibeth, just a day before Valentine’s Day. Although her move fueled existing rumors of marital woes, the duchess appeared to diffuse it with a sweet Valentine’s Day message to her husband on Instagram, which also acknowledged the hundreds of injured veterans partaking in the sporting activity.
Prince Harry Reveals Genuine Concern For Wife Meghan

Miles away in Canada, Prince Harry, although lacking a social platform to reciprocate his wife’s lovers’ day affection, got to reminisce on their love via an interview which has been published almost two weeks later. Prince Harry, who launched the Invictus Games in 2014, spoke to US Weekly about the then-ongoing sports fest, and the role his wife has played thus far. The Prince acknowledged that Meghan had been a part of the Invictus Games community since she first attended the event with him in 2016.
Harry revealed how his wife has loved every moment of it, especially the memories they’ve made together. Discussing some of their most memorable moments at the Invictus Games over the years, Prince Harry recalled a moment in 2018, when his wife Meghan Markle joined him at the Games while still pregnant with their first child, Prince Archie.
He recounted receiving a scare after a male fan, whom he called Rob, gave him a “bear hug.” Harry admitted that at that point, he dreaded the thought of Rob bear-hugging his wife as well, fearing the detrimental effect it could have on her. He recounted,
“There are so many special memories, but I’ll never forget the bear hug I received from Rob out on Sydney Harbor — and my genuine concern that he might try the same with my wife, who was pregnant at the time!”
Harry Commends Meghan’s Valentine’s Day Shoutout

The Duke also discussed their unconventional Valentine’s Day celebration, which saw them spend the most romantic time of the year apart. Prince Harry admitted he appreciated his wife’s support for him through the Invictus Games so far, and especially appreciated the Valentine’s Day shoutout on Instagram. He told the outlet,
“The Instagram shoutout was very sweet and much appreciated.”
Prince Harry’s interview admission comes amid prevailing rumors of marital struggles, which have plagued the couple in recent times. Although the duo have failed to address these speculations, a sources claim the pair are very much aware of it, and always laughed it off, knowing they’ve probably divorced a million times in the eyes of the public. There have also been talks of a “professional separation” between them, resulting in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pursuing their respective professional ventures over the Sussexes’ brand. This move, experts believe, is intended as a grasp for relevance and perhaps a last-ditch effort to salvage their reputation after previous strategies failed.
