Princess Beatrice is allegedly willing to throw her father, Prince Andrew, under the bus to protect her inheritance. Sources recently claimed the Duke of York’s oldest daughter was looking out for herself following the Royal Lodge drama. Andrew made waves earlier this year for butting heads with his brother, King Charles III, over his accommodations.
Insiders claimed the monarch wanted the Duke to downsize from the Royal Lodge and move into Frogmore Cottage. However, Andrew refused to leave the Royal Lodge, his home since 2003. He reportedly wished to leave the property as a form of inheritance to his daughters. However, Beatrice had other plans.
An insider claimed the princess sided with King Charles because she desperately wanted to join the “royal roster.” They claimed Beatrice understood that her “future lies in the hands of her uncle, not her dad.” Beatrice seemed to have lost hope in Andrew after he stepped down as a senior working royal. The source suggested that the aftermath of his exit saw the princess’s inheritance “taking a big hit.” They added:
“Even though Beatrice has landed comfortably by marrying into an Italian aristocratic family, it’s mortifying to have Andrew decimate the family’s fortune and reputation.”
The informant stressed that Beatrice was willing to do whatever it took to secure her spot in the family. “She desperately wants to be formally put on the royal roster. And if that means distancing herself from her father, then so be it,” the insider claimed, per GBNews.
Prince Andrew Emerges Victorious In The Royal Lodge Drama
We previously covered that Andrew had won the fight for the Royal Lodge despite his brother’s wishes. King Charles had removed the Duke of York’s private security and the funds needed to maintain the property. However, cutting off his sibling’s finances did not convince him to relocate. Instead, Andrew surprised the King by declaring he would fund himself and the Royal Lodge out of his pocket.
Andrew Lownie, a biographer of the Duke and Duchess of York, questioned the royal member’s income source. Lownie pointed out that Andrew fell from grace after his ties to the late sex felon Jeffrey Epstein surfaced. He noted the Duke once admitted the convict had “introduced him to useful business contacts.” Additionally, Andrew gained “lucrative connections in Central Asia and the Middle East” as a representative for trade and investment. Lownie claimed many were concerned about how the prince used these contacts, adding:
“Now he is no longer a working royal, there is far less scrutiny of his business activities — but it is an area that needs to be looked at.”
Andrew’s income source was also a deal breaker for the King. An insider claimed he did not mind letting his brother have the Royal Lodge. However, he had to cover the cost of the property through legitimate means. The source claimed King Charles was tired of funding a lifestyle above his brother’s status.
