A disturbing roadside confrontation in Moreno Valley, California, is drawing widespread outrage after a video surfaced showing a woman of Native American descent unleashing a racist tirade and throwing coffee at another driver because she was Mexican. The video’s caption explains that the victim was taking her kids to school and almost crashed as a result of the incident.
The aggressor, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, can be seen shouting slurs and tossing what appears to be a full coffee cup toward a woman’s car. The victim, remaining off camera, is Mexican-American and reportedly did nothing to provoke the attack beyond being in the same lane.
But what shocked viewers even more than the abuse itself was the attacker’s own ethnic background. Rather than the expected profile of a white nationalist, the woman is Native American, and she makes that very clear, weaponizing her heritage in the most ironic way imaginable.
At one point in the confrontation, the woman loudly declares, “My people are warriors,” as if ancestral pride justifies her bigotry. Viewers pointed out the baffling contradiction: a minority person, invoking the pain and legacy of colonization, turning around and inflicting that same harm on another marginalized group.
“She was really casual about using slurs,” commented one Reddit user, adding, “and many Mexicans have Indigenous heritage as well.” Another added bluntly, “At that point isn’t it arbitrary to differentiate between a Mexican and a Native?”
The contradiction didn’t go unnoticed. Reddit lit up with comments unpacking the intersection of identity, nationalism, and internalized racism. Some users speculated that the woman believes her tribal affiliation gives her social superiority over other Indigenous-descended people, especially those from Mexico. “She probably thinks she’s better because she has a US tribal affiliation,” one user suggested.
Others pointed out the broader implications. “The white man wants the indigenous fighting the Chicanos while he picks both of their pockets,” wrote u/CaptainCaveSam, capturing a sentiment that echoes through centuries of divide-and-conquer tactics.
The clip cuts to the core of an uncomfortable reality: racism isn’t exclusive to white-on-minority dynamics. As user ZaTen3 put it, “Incredibly sad when even Indigenous people are being racist against other POC.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be Reddit without a touch of gallows humor. One user dubbed the aggressor “an angry Oompa Loompa,” while another joked, “I’ve been wondering what Snookie has been up to these days.”
As the video continues to circulate, many are calling for the woman to be identified and held accountable. “Name and shame this racist lady,” demanded one user. Others warned she’s playing a dangerous game: “She’s gonna pull that crap on the wrong person one day.”
