Rack n’ Ruin was a game I quite enjoyed playing on PlayStation 4 when it came to the console and PC back in 2015. For those unaware, the game stars a character by the name of Rack who has a mission to leave the world in ruin so his master can take over.

Unfortunately, Rack has a tendency to go over the top and completely destroy things, leaving nothing to take over. Here players control him in his last chance saloon as he looks to deliver the world to his master.

Rack n’ Ruin can best be described as a top-down action-adventure RPG with bullet hell elements. Rack has access to 4 core elemental weapons and 24 spells that can be used to vanquish the forces of good.

Whilst not the longest game, there are over 100 secrets to find in Rack n’ Ruin’s open-world environment giving completionists something to aim for.

Take a look at the announcement trailer:

If that all sounds good to you then you’ll be pleased to know the title wasn’t a lie. Rack n’ Ruin is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch and will do so on March 13, a mere 2 weeks away. Another in a long line of, hopefully great, Switch ports. If you are interested, the price to download is $12.99, unless you pre-order, in which case there’s a discounted price of $9.99 on offer.

That ever-popular 23% discount rate.

I’m looking forward to giving it a try again. I haven’t played it since release and it’ll be interesting to see if my love of bullet hells and/or my nostalgia goggles are affecting my opinion.

Let us know in the comments your thoughts on Rack n’ Ruin if you’ve played it before and whether or not you plan on picking it up. After trying to keep your town pristine in the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons (due March 20) it could be a nice change of pace to mess things up a little bit.
