Generally, you can expect substantial game updates every few months for Rainbow Six Siege. These bring anything from a new operator and skins, all the way to a new or reworked map. While these don’t always stick, the majority freshen up the game and make it fun for all skill levels. Other than these updates though, there are random events that change up the game for some time. Today, Ubisoft is ready to unveil the latest event. Rainbow Six Siege’s next event, Mute Protocol begins tomorrow, bringing new skins and a limited-time event mode to the game. You can find a trailer that shows everything off below.

This event has Rainbow Six Siege’s Tower map converted into a futuristic broadcast center, heralded as the voice of independence in the city. Defenders want to ensure the public has a form of independence, but attackers think otherwise. Using this new version of Tower, players will have to think differently about how they approach offense or defense. What makes it so special is the new drone ability. When going into your drone, your model will disintegrate out of view, coming out again a few seconds later. This can make for either some new angles or perhaps a surprise attack.

Unfortunately, not every operator will be able to take part in Rainbow Six Siege’s Mute Protocol. Twitch, Thatcher, Mozzie, Mute, Maestro, Valkyrie, Dokkaebi, Echo, Goyo, Clash, Montagne, Blitz, and Caviera will be unplayable. We don’t know much as to why, other than “gameplay reasons”. Thankfully though, skins for some of the remaining operators will be available for purchase. Those who own the Year 5 Pass will be able to purchase these for 10% off too.

We hope you enjoy this more futuristic take on Rainbow Six Siege. Mute Protocol lasts from August 4th to August 17th. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Will you be trying Rainbow Six Siege’s Mute Protocol event? Any of the robotic skins look intriguing to you? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
